Twitter Your MLM
August 28, 2008 | By Monika Mundell | 1 Comment »
Have you ever given any consideration to using tools like Twitter to spread your mlm message? Twitter is a nifty little networking tool that will allow you to be seen and heard on the web. Lately though, Twitter has had quite a few challenges and they experienced several outings of the network over the last few weeks.
The secret to network correctly with Twitter is to build a presence without spamming. First off this will require you to become social with Twitter and update your status a couple of times every day.
Once you have started to build a report with others in your vicinity things will be a lot easier to make contact.
One of the great features of Twitter is that you can make friends by joining other networks. This is a great way to get exposure early on. The more people you are linked to, the more chances that you will build some relationships for business purposes.
Your network will be there to connect with and you might even get referrals over time if you help others.
But best of all, you can publish your latest blog posts on your Twitter status bar. If you make these less obvious and not spammy looking, you can possibly generate a lot of extra traffic.
I’ve noticed that many Twitter users overdo the actual link posting bit. Remember, less is more. And the more you participate as part of the community, the more links you can post without looking dodgy.
Hope this helps.

I was talking to a friend the other day. She mentioned that she joined yet another mlm company. One that would pay her a lot of money if she sponsored a lot of people into their own business.
Funny enough I looked into this company about 6 months ago when another mutual friend of us both joined same company. After the initial excitement about the possible pay I soon realized that the company is nothing but a cleverly disguised pyramid scheme and bound to crash eventually.
But my friend got blinded by the promise of money - in fact a lot of money. So much money that one person I know has already earned $700,000 this year alone. She hasn’t even been a year with the company. Before she joined this company she was a distributor in the same mlm I was part of.
What happened in the meantime is great for her but exactly the reason why so many people rush to sign up with an mlm company.
It’s the common misconception of mlm!
People don’t realize that this women had brought a whole lot of people with her when she moved companies. Because she was quite a leader in the first company there was no lack of willing people when the transferred over which of course grew her organization in massive compound effects.
That is the reason why she made so much money already this year and nothing else. And that is exactly the reason why so many mlm leaders experience this so called overnight success. Unless a person has a huge following and contact list of willing people, the success will take a lot longer if all.
What do you think? Have you ever been blinded by a success story thinking you can repeat it with ease, only to find out you can’t?

Sometimes your mlm business feel like noting is moving. Yesterday you were on a high and today everything seems dull and you can’t be bothered to pick up the phone, or even talk to your online leads. What happened between then and now?
Perhaps you had a quitter and now you feel like all the hard work you put into getting this person was wasted. Right? Or else your best customer called you and announced she is no longer able to buy from you.
When setbacks like these happen we tend to blow them up and make a mountain out of a molehill. How do I know? Because I’ve done this myself. Many of times.
Something went wrong and I lost my momentum because I fell into a black hole of procrastination. What many of us don’t realize is that this type of behavior does more damage to our business than the actual event that triggered it.
Every business experiences setbacks. It’s the nature of running a business. The problem is when your business is still small. It is a lot harder to carry yourself forward when you desperately need the money. Once you have some measures of success, these setbacks become much easier to deal with because they don’t affect us as much anymore.
Therefore it is essential for your own good that you beat your inner critic in those hard moments and keep pushing on forward. It really will get easier over time.
I also found that by giving myself small milestones to aim for in my early stages of business, it made the process easier too and less frightening.

Ty Tribble and Bo Short, two network marketing leaders have just announced their latest book, "How To Choose The Right Network Marketing Company".
The eBook is free and available as a download after you opt in to their mailing list. As with any respectable mailing list you can unsubscribe after you downloaded the eBook if you don’t want to receive their digital wisdom.
The eBook is geared at all people who struggle to come up with the right network marketing company to join. Sorting through the clutter and hype can be very daunting. Finding out who has the best payment plan can end up being very time consuming and tiring.
Ty and Bo both have a sound track record in the industry and are looked upon as trustworthy leaders with plenty of experience. I have been following Ty for some time now, occasionally visiting his blog and reading his articles. He has always struck me as an honest and see through business person, unlike some of the slimy figures I met when I was in my mlm.

August 20, 2008 | By Monika Mundell | No Comments »
The number one reason why most people (including me) fail in mlm is fear. We all fear things. Whether it be talking to people on the phone, cold calling, face to face talks, distributing out marketing materials, or mentoring our down line, most of us have an area that we rather suppress.
Trouble is, when we suppress things we tend to blow them up and soon enough a midget becomes an elephant. In mlm, this could quickly snowball and before you know it, you have effectively paralyzed yourself due to over analysing things.
When you think about it, I’m sure you have been in those situations before. My own biggest fear was cold calling people on the phone and talking to strangers on the street. You might have been told about the 5 foot rule in your own mlm.
That is when you try to hit on anything that moves within a 5 feet radius. Not a particular nice thing to do, especially if your hands get all sweaty, your heart starts racing 200 beats per minute and you want nothing more than to stick your head in the sand and forget all about it.
When we are afraid of things we freeze up. Our body goes into survival mode and all we can think of is the nearest exit to flee.
Some say, you have to train your phobias and take charge of them. But this is easier said than done.
What if your integrity screams "ABUSE"? If you are dead set against those practices from a personal belief, there is no way you will overcome those phobias. It took me some time to realize this myself, but when I did, I felt great.
At least I knew there was nothing wrong with me. So, what is your phobia?

While mlm has been the answer for many people, it is still a social "black eye" for many. Even though the old days of mlm are nearly gone, there are still many companies who operate under their old marketing plans, making successful selling and recruiting almost impossible.
For many people, mlm has been the reason they have lost a lot of money and during my time in the game this has been confirmed many tomes over. I can’t recall the number of times people turned me down over the phone because they or somebody they knew had bad experiences with mlm.
Not a pretty thing. So what is your biggest issue with mlm? If you are part of the 99% who fail and chances are you are, what failed you and why?
Was it the wrong company, the wrong upline, were you the wrong person or was the product wrong?

August 16, 2008 | By Monika Mundell | No Comments »
I quit mlm for many reasons. But first and foremost it was because I couldn’t turn my head on the company’s shoddy deals anymore. When I first joined my mlm company back in 2004 I was excited and positively green behind my ears.
I didn’t realize that behind closed doors there was a totally different scenario than what was presented to opportunity seekers at our company’s outings. It also took me a long while to understand that our leaders were in fact nothing but very good scam artists.
They would smile you in the face while scamming you left, right and center to buy expensive and unnecessary business tools to fatten their own pockets for extra profit.
Little did I know of the wars that were going on behind closed doors.
I guess the final straw snapped when I was lured into attending a Vegas convention which was the biggest waste of time ever. Not only was the whole event geared toward the U.S market (I’m in Australia), but when I decided to sit with my friends away from the pack at the back of the room, I got reprimanded by my upline for doing just so. And here I was thinking I ran my own business.
Soon enough I started to see the finer aspects of my business and the more I saw, the less I liked what I was doing. To mention that I had allowed myself to be brainwashed is an understatement.
What was once a love relationship with my mlm business soon turned to contempt and eventually hate. I knew then I had to get out.
That is exactly what I did. The day I severed my ties with the company was the best day of my life (ok maybe not). But it sure as hell felt great, because a huge weight was lifted from my mind.
Gone were the financial pressures, the antipathy against calling clients on the phone, the antiquated marketing systems - I was told to doing flyers for god’s sake! And gone were also the people that had started to piss me off. Especially the leaders at the very top who were consciously milking us for all we were worth.
That was why I got out of mlm. I had lost my faith in the business model, plus it just wasn’t me.
Why did you get out? Or why are you still in? Please let me know.

Website: http://simplyfun.com/
SimplyFun History:
SimplyFun ® was born from an idea in the late 1990’s. Gail DeGiulio, a wife, mother and businesswoman, was disappointed with the lack of variety and innovation of quality traditional games to play with her children, family and friends.
Despite countless searches at local shops and online Gail couldn’t find a selection of games that were both easy to learn and enjoyable to play. Even the few games she bought were too tedious to comprehend, leaving her family frustrated with the experience. The only fun games they found were most often those recommended by friends, or discovered at somebody else’s game party.
So out of this frustration and unhappiness with the market, Gail launched SimplyFun in 2004. The idea behind the company is to deliver games that are easy to learn, fun to play with and entertain all of the family.
As with any traditional direct selling company, SimplyFun is sold via the nationwide self employed consultants throughout The U.S.
SimplyFun Mission:
According to the SimplyFun website their mission is:
To promote the importance of play and create lifelong memories that enhance the quality of life for our Consultants, customers and employees.
The team have made it their mission to encourage us to take 30 minutes a day to play and have fun. Taking the time each day for fun will help us to stay more balanced and enjoy life more.
Much like kids, who always need play time and interaction, us adults can benefit from same by using their games to play. Unfortunately we seem to lose that aspect of our personality as we grow up.
SimplyFun Products:
The SimplyFun product arsenal ranges from indoor to the great outdoors. You can even bring a smile to a neglected child’s face:
The company has a huge range of games to keep you and your kids entertained for hours on end. A handy overview tells you exactly what age group is suitable for each game, how many players are required and how long the game takes as a minimum. See an overview below and how this is presented.
Their groovy looking cuddly buddies also serve as handy hand puppets. Great to entertain your kiddies on a rainy day. Check out some of the selection below:
The selection is completed with puzzles, craft kits, and sets to help beat any kid’s boredom. The company concept is smart and will entertain you for sure. It’s just a shame that SimplyFun is only available in the U.S. at this stage.
The products are usually introduced by consultants via a groovy home party. Imagine having a bunch of friends and some kids to test a range of games and all. Sounds like fun to me for sure.
You can even use this party as an excuse to host a BBQ, or some other complimentary event.
SimplyFun Marketing Plan:
If you live in the U.S. and think that SimplyFun sounds like your company, then you can sign up easy online. Here is some more info on what you could get paid as a SimplyFun consultant.
As a SimplyFun Consultant, financial rewards are waiting for you with a generous Compensation Plan. As a Consultant you can earn:
You can also earn a dream vacation with SimplyFun. Although I couldn’t find out exactly why from their website.

August 13, 2008 | By Monika Mundell | No Comments »
YTB International, based in IL, USA is currently involved in a rather controversial court case. As with many mlm companies, they are being accused of operating an illegal pyramid scheme, rather than acting like proper mlm company.
Some even go as far as calling them operators of a card mill that encourages YTB agents to score free travel or heavy reduced trips.
When you look at a recent report by the MLM Watchdog, you can see that the percentage of income on marketing commissions clearly overrides that of travel commissions. This of course looks very dodgy. As far as I can remember, legal mlm companies focus on retail, rather than commissions.
The YTB stock which is being traded over the counter has also received a heavy wake up call with it being around $1.24 on July 15th to being at $8 one year ago.
The question remains, is YTB a pyramid scam, operating under the heavy disguise of mlm, or are they unluckily caught in the fire of disgruntled ex operators - who perhaps weren’t realistic enough about going into business for themselves?
It will be interesting to see what the California Attorney General decides once the court case has been heard.
What do you think? Is YTB real? Or are they dodgy?
