Are We Simply Vitamin Peddlers?

January 19, 2008 | By Monika Mundell | No Comments »

It seems that direct sellers have become vitamin peddlers since everywhere I turn there is yet another vitamin MLM starting out. It’s like a re-invention of the old times when all we had was vitamins. I’m not sure what prompts these companies to stay on the track of pills rather than venture into something more exciting.

But then, they might have their reasons. Before any MLM opens its doors they will do a thorough market study to determine whether there was enough interest and demand in the population to support the new invention.

I do understand this, but then what happened to the idea of a car direct selling model? Wouldn’t that be groovy, getting thousands of dollars of commission in one go. To me this makes perfect sense since they could do away with those sleazy car salesmen we see everywhere.

But maybe I don’t see through the pink glasses here. I might have missed the secret behind peddling vitamins so I shall just zip my mouth (ahem my pen) and leave it at that.

Right, apparently I can’t shut up and I couldn’t stop half way through the article. Getting back on the vitamin trail of thoughts, how boring is it really to peddle vitamins?

I rather peddle real food, wine, real estate, insurance, electronics or holidays. Some of these already exists in MLM, but really the market is wide open to start a more exciting product launch that actually pays hard dollars instead of pennies and still is a product in high demand.

What is it that you want to peddle?
