Explain Everything On The Phone?

March 12, 2007 | By admin | No Comments »

If you do use a phone in your prospecting efforts, then don’t try to explain the business over the phone. A newbie normally does this. One newbie guy actually talked for 2 hours on the phone to his prospect/friend, explaining the business. His friend did join but I’m not sure whether its for the right reason or just to get him off the phone.

Anyway, the purpose of the call is to invite the prospect to a presentation – either a website or to a meeting. When you are clear that you intention of making the call id solely for inviting, you won’t spend ‘hours’ on the phone (like the newbie guy I mentioned earlier) talking about the product and opportunity, that may confuse or even irritate and ‘kill’ your prospect.

Picture this, at the end of all your explaining on the phone for an hour or so, the prospect say no, wouldn’t that be non-productive. Just remember, when on call prospecting, just simply invite them to the presentation and let the presentation tools do their work.
