Going for Broke

January 18, 2008 | By Monika Mundell | No Comments »

MLM distributors often feel like they are looking for the proverbial needle in a haystack. Finding those 3 team members that are working just as hard as you and have a vision to become a top performer is the hardest thing for most MLM business owners.

Because of the high turn over most don’t stay long enough to make a difference. Most often the reason is finances. The irony here is that those people come into MLM because they are desperate for money. They are either near broke and are looking for a way out, or else their job sucks and they want out.

That makes them easy targets for promises and hype or riches.

Being vulnerable and hoping to get a better life makes these people immune to the signs of hype and they fall easily into the trap.

Once they realize what they gotten themselves into, they do a quick back-flip never to be seen again.

I want to make clear that this isn’t because MLM is evil. But it is because it actually requires some decent funds to be able to attend functions and buy the products for oneself and stock.

So it is understanding that people who are broke upfront will soon get discouraged by all the fluff and feel left out because they can’t afford to take full advantage of the higher discounts often given to those who buy into the business.

MLM is hard work in the best of times and being broke and desperate doesn’t necessary make for a top distributor – contrary to popular belief.

So before you step into MLM it helps to have some finances and enough incoming money to keep paying the bills without jeopardizing your livelihood.

Don’t end up broke because you were to vulnerable to see how much work is involved in MLM.
