Herbalife Appoints New GM for China

LOS ANGELES, Dec 20, 2007 (BUSINESS WIRE) — Herbalife Ltd. (NYSE:HLF), a global nutrition and direct selling company, promoted Jerry Li to general manager of the company’s China operations. Li is an experienced direct selling operative having gained seven years experience in Amway where he got eventually promoted to senior manager , overseeing day to day operations in the Shandong province. He has a MBA from the University of Peking. Li reports to Paul Noack, who was recently named managing director of the company’s Asia Pacific region.
Li first joined Herbalife as sales director in December 2004, where he has held various operational roles, and most recently, was jointly responsible for the day-to-day operations in China.
Herbalife Is one of only few direct selling companies that actually has a license to do business in China. The company started in China in March 2007 and in July the license was expanded to include the entire Jiangsu province. Headquartered in Shanghai, the company currently operates 90 stores in 29 provinces in China.
More than 34 products are sold by Herbalife in China. They operate their own manufacturing facility in Suzhou, China, which produces products for local use and also for export.
Herbalife is affiliated with, and plays an active role in a large number of industry trade organizations and is well respected for their public profile.
