I found prospecting on the phone can be one of the most profitable and rewarding ways to build your business, but if done incorrectly, it can lead to more frustration than anything in network marketing.
When I talk about HOW to prospect on the phone, I am not talking about what kinds of leads you are dialing or how fresh they are. I am talking about a simple technique you must use to be successful when prospecting on the telephone.
Most network marketers use some type of “leads” to build their business. Some use fresh leads, or MLM target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="http://gobala.linktrackr.com/attractionmarketing-mlmrkeywords">MLM downline reports, or exclusive leads or whatever. It really doesn’t matter.
No matter what leads you are using on the phone they will not make you successful. Once I learned how to prospect on the phone correctly, I started dialing year old leads and sponsored people.
The unknown truth about the lead industry is that the lead you are calling will only be as good as you. Period. Not debatable. They can cost a penny or $100 each, it really doesn’t matter. Don’t get caught up in what type of lead you are using, get caught up in learning how to prospect them properly.
So what is that one thing you can do to become skillful on the phone?
You guessed it . . .

In my experience, practicing how to call people leads to success. Your posture and attitude on the phone will show through to your prospect. If they feel like you don’t have a freaking clue what you are doing, it’s game over. You have to have the mindset every time you pick up the phone that you don’t care if they join your business or not. You are just there to give them the facts and the rest is up to them. Prospect can feel if you are begging them or need them to join. (Believe it, it’s true)
One thing you must practice before you pick up the phone is getting your thoughts to a point that you don’t need them to join your business. I practice everyday saying to myself, “I don’t care who joins my business, the right ones will” You must do the same thing. Practice that out loud before you pick up the phone and start dialing. You will see the difference in your check.
A great way to practice is on old leads that don’t cost you anything, maybe old leads from your upline. You can work on your posture and your attitude that it doesn’t matter if they join you or not while actually dialing leads live on the phone. Try it, it works.
Practicing on those two areas before you invest money in leads will make a world of difference not only in your future commission checks, but also will avoid guaranteed frustration if done the wrong way.
