[ratings]Company Name: The Pampered Chef
Website: www.thepamperedchef.com
The Pampered Chef History:
History was in the making when Doris Christopher founded The Pampered Chef out of her Chicago basement in 1980. Hoping to preserve her family meals with two growing daughters she wanted to be able to serve the needs of her children whilst being able to be there for them whenever they were home.
Her experience as a home economics teacher and her passion for entertaining friends led her to the idea of building a business with kitchen tools. Doris was inspired by her friends demands on wanting to know ere she got the “groovy” kitchen utensils from, whenever she would entertain and this resulted in The Pampered Chef being born.
After a relative slow start in the early years of the business the company snowballed to the extend of having to freeze new consultant recruitment in the early 1990′s due to logistic and back end problems. After a seven month freeze, the company snowballed and soon enough there were consultants in every state of the USA.
In early 2000 The Pampered Chef was acquired by Berkshire Hathaway a well know company of diverse business for some 900 million dollars. CEO Warren Buffet is said to be the worlds second richest man. Doris Christopher is still actively involved in the running of The Pampered Chef as Chairman of the company these days.
The Pampered Chef Products:
The products of The Pampered Chef are ranging from cooking ware to utensils to spices and seasoning for the pantry. From high tech to entertaining, the company has something for every kitchen lover. All Pampered Chef products have a minimum of one year warrantee which just shows how much emphasis they place on quality.

Their deluxe cheese grater shreds mounds of yummy cheese, chocolate or even nuts for your next dinner party. It takes the hard work and the sweat out of grating and can be set to grate course or fine. The deluxe cheese grater is ideal for both left and right handed operation.
The cutting board with measure cups is something we have never seen before. A nifty idea that stores removable measuring cups within the board allows for ease of preparation. Great for storage on keeping things in one neat space.
The i-Slice® is another clever invention that can be carried around by hobby chefs. It clips recipes, coupons, opens CDs and DVDs with a lightweight ceramic handle, cuts shrink wrap and has a built in magnet and a keyring hole. i-Slice® is a convenient all round household tool.
Besides all the cool tools, The Pampered Chef also features a great recipe collection all developed in their very own test kitchen. Just reading all the book titles make my mouth water.
What impressed me the most with The Pampered Chef is the fact that their prices are all very affordable and nothing seems to be spiked to high for the masses. You don’t need to expect to pay more than walking into a local household;d or kitchen shop which is very rare in direct sales these days.
Their range of products are very appealing to the housewife, hobby cook or even professional chef. Practical use gear and state of the art tools beg for kitchen utensil lover to be taken home.
The Pampered Chef Compensation Plan:
To become a Pampered Chef consultant is easy and very affordable. It costs a mere $ 155 to get started and this will buy you not only a license to sell the products and recruit others into your own organization, but it will also give you a great set of usable kitchen gear valued at over $ 500.
With an interactive web based training and 24/7 access as well as great support you won’t be alone with The Pampered Chef. You can have your very own cooking show and demonstrate the great tools to your friends or strangers.
The Pampered Chef is a strong advocate on not pushing their products onto new customers unlike so many other MLM target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="http://gobala.linktrackr.com/buildingonabudget-mlmrkeywords">MLM. They favour the soft sell approach which funny enough works a treat.
As a consultant you can earn not only a great commission, but also other quirks:
- Dream Vacations
- Stunning Jewelry
- Free Products
- And much more!
In regards to income possibilities, The Pampered Chef wasn’t transient enough to display a marketing plan in regards to levels of organization etc. To get started or find out more about The Pampered Chef, you are advised to visit The Pampered Chef homepage and contact a consultant for more information.
Currently the opportunity is available in the USA, Canada, UK and Germany.
The Pampered Chef is certainly a company that is set to take the world by storm in years to come. Having proven strong growth in local regions of the USA first and being established as a trusted company that uses the direct selling model, their future is promising.

Pampered Chef has very nice products but their compensation plan really stinks. There is so much work involved with PC and a 20-22% commission does not cut it.
Hi Tara,
Thank you for the heads up. I didn’t like the fact that they don’t show their plan on the website. That is often an indication that they might have something to hide.
I guess this has just been confirmed.
I also love their products by the look of it. Unfortunately they don’t trade in my country so I cannot buy stuff.
Commission is actually 20-25% when you start, depending on your sales for the month. I’m going to estimate 4 hours for a show, including driving. Let’s say your shows average about $300 each. Off the top, you know you’re getting $60 per show minimum. That’s only $15 per hour, but the more shows you do, the greater your commission. For instance, if you do 8 shows a month at that rate, you boost your commisions to 23%, and your hourly rate to $17.50 per hour.
On top of that there are other incentives. For instance, you get all the PC products at discounted rates. You also get free products, and PC dollars for doing shows nd selling the products. You then can apply those PC dollars to more products for you, or save them for gifts (whatever you want).
You probably aren’t going to get rich selling PC. However, if you like PC products and want an affordable way to earn your PC kitchen, becoming a consultant is wonderful. If you’re looking for a career/job that works around your schedule, PC is great. Not only that, but PC products are easy to sell. Do your own survey. Ask your friends, family, people on the street if they use PC products. You’ll probably find that at least 80% of the people you talk to have either heard or own PC products. Not only do they own it, but you’ll see their eyes light up as they start thinking about their favorite PC product, and then start telling you about it.
The product practically sells itself. It’s more about reminding people that PC products are available for them to buy, than trying to push a product.
I would like to know more about the compensation plan. Any body had any idea? Is it worth the try?
