The Secret To MLM Success

May 8, 2008 | By Monika Mundell | No Comments »

With my last post revealing yet another MLM scam, I thought it appropriate to share my thoughts on what really helps you to become successful. I have been in the game long enough to have learned from my shortcomings and mistakes.

The sad thing is that I see people being ripped off over and over again and the circle just keeps turning.

If you have been reading my MLM rambles over the last 10 months you should know by now that I’m not against MLM as a home business idea. But I am against the countless practices of many MLM companies who rob people of their dreams and position them in the wrong spot right from the moment go.

I consider myself an ex-pat MLM warrior (gee, I kind of like that idea) and my aim is to help as many of you to see the light before it is too late.

So what constitutes MLM success and is there really a secret?

I can tell you right now that there isn’t. Huh?… so what’s the go with the headline then?

Well, I admit it was a shameless plug to suck you in and read more…(hint hint)

But I’m not kidding, there are some indications as to whether your MLM might be doomed or destined for higher things.

How old is your MLM?

Seriously, the older your MLM, the more people are or have been involved and the harder it gets to prospect. I don’t care whether they tell you that you don’t have to worry about market saturation “because their product is popular and will be for years to come”. These are clever marketing ploys to override your inner voice (the one who really knows).

The MLM product

Seriously, do we really need another health MLM? I mean there are so many MLM’s that peddle vitamins that we are becoming a vitamin popping brainwashed population.

Eat your vegies and fruit, exercise and stop binge eating and you don’t need all these pills.

Plus, most people just about had it with pills anyway. Make sure that your MLM company has a product that is really wanted in the market. Don’t believe what they tell you, do your own research.

How about the MLM marketing plan?

Oh yes, the ever praised and hyped up marketing plan of most MLM’s. You really need to dig deep here. The best way to find out whether your MLM is right for you and your hip pocket is to do some research independently of what the company tells you (or make belief).

Call local distributors and ask them outright what they earn, how long they have been in the business and whether they are finding it tough. If they state massive incomes, ask for proof. Tell them that unless you see the facts you won’t join their organisation.

This should eliminate the hype from the real thing pretty fast and will uncover some cold hard truths.

So you joined your MLM what next?

If you are lucky enough to having found the perfect MLM company, congratulations. Now it’s on to walking the talk. A few tips from me:

  • don’t buy into everything your MLM tells you. Always keep an open mind.
  • you don’t need to be hyped into attending every company meeting, It will only drive you toward bankruptcy faster. Choose your won pace and if you really can’t afford it, don’t go no matter what they say!
  • start small and don’t get sucked into buying into your MLM at a higher level, just because you will get more commission. You still have a business to build.
  • spend as you earn, not the other way round. Your chances at success are actually much higher.
  • have fun

I hope these MLM secret tips which are not really MLM secrets at all will get your mind set straight and improve your chances of succeeding with your MLM.
