With No Downline Organization, Can You Still Make Money In MLM?

Yes you can.
Basically you are building you NM business just like any conventional business. And it does work.
There’s a catch though. You must be willing to learn, develop and acquire the marketing skills to find you retail customers or preferred customers. And you must learn to build a large customer base. Also you must learn and apply customer retention strategies.
If you use the internet as a means to build your customer base, the costs would be a bit less if you do it with the offline methods. Either case you may have to have or acquire adequate capital to withstand the possible losses during the early stage of business before breaking even and then begin to see profit.
I used to know two MLM leaders, one in Shaklee and one with Take Shape For Life (TSFL) who did this. Both of them really focused on building large customer base. The lad in Shaklee in the hundreds, and the gal from TSFL over 3000 repeat monthly customers. Of course this didn’t happen overnight or months but several years.
Here locally, I personal know a friend who is with Herbalife that focus on building his customer base. His net profit a month is RM9,000 – RM11,000 (approx. USD2570 – USD 3142).
And with retention strategies in place with that kind of huge customer base, they didn’t care to have a downline organization. But here’s the ‘magic’, they attract others who are willing to do what they are doing. So their downline organization grows slowly and surely.

I think it all depends on “time”. Some people make money by Internet MLM companies who have established links with people from long time, so their downlink is bigger for enjoying profits.
Herbalife in Malaysia, I personally don’t recommend it for new comers, again old physical downlink or relations do matter with profits, old marketers can easily cope with purchased stock. Basically, Herbalife’s policy is buy stock from them first, later you can sell it or not, its not their problem.
So many people just gave up! Its enjoyable for only people who have good relations outside in retail shops, or trying to sell from their own end. Yes similar situation is for internet MLM, old is gold.

Waseem,
You got a point there….having old downlines from previous companies does help.
Just to let you know however the people that I talked about, the one in TSFL and Herbalife were not marketers and have no experience building MLM. The guy with Shaklee, well he has an advantage as he’s an internet marketer.
Amazing people, there are indeed.

If you choose to go all out retailing, then front loading is the way. otherwise, stay away from huge frontloading companies. Even if they offer a high position or payout, it doesn’t justify the cost of buying big.
