Work Smart – Not Hard

If you struggle to organize your direct selling home business it might be time to re-organize certain areas to make life a little easier for you. You’d be amazed at how much time you loose if you don’t work efficiently.

Even for those of you who haven’t got the funds to buy groovy tools and gadgets, don’t worry as you don’t need them. All you need is a few hours to think about where you are missing out the most.

Often when clutter amasses, it is due to the feeling of being out of control. Whether this is due to not feeling adequate enough to deal with the tasks at hand, or simply a lack of motivation depends and can make a huge difference in the end result.

Sit down and think about where exactly you have the biggest mess in your office. Is it your desk, your files, or is it even your computer.

The best way to attack this mess would be to start in a small corner. trying to attack too much of your pile would be similar to creating suicide.

Start small and work from there. What works for me is to set aside some time every week to master all the backlog and from then onwards keeping the office clean by:

  • filing paper work immediately
  • printing less
  • using folders and files
  • answering email instantly twice a day if it requires less than 3 minutes
  • keeping my hard drive clean
  • deleting old files that are no longer needed
  • using a diary to write down deadlines and act upon them

Changing these small things has resulted in having much more control in my home office now and instead of having a mess, it actually looks very organized.

Maybe you’d like to share your own tips too…
